SPECIAL COLLECTION | Giphy Goes National !!!

Have you ever heard of Giphy.com?

I hadn't until just a few weeks ago. I received an email in my feed that the National Archives was now on Giphy.com. I was about to be overjoyed but didn't even know why.

About Giphy

Giphy.com is a collection of animated GIF files. GIF files are moving graphics. Cool, huh? Giphy.com has partnered (https://giphy.com/partners) with many archive holders such as the National Archives (http://www.archives.gov/) to supply images for their artists from which to create fun and educational animated files. Giphy.com invites artists and those with artistic interests to create GIF files.

If you have an artistic flair but need to learn to create GIF files, not to worry. You can take a course from the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) at: https://dp.la/info/get-involved/workshops/. Creating GIFs are easy and just involves creating separate screens and then sequencing them together.
